As one of four transmission system operators in Germany, 50Hertz is responsible for electricity transmission at the highest voltage level; the level on which everything depends when it comes to grid stability and security of supply in Germany and Europe. We are part of a European grid network and cooperate directly with colleagues throughout Europe. Together with the Belgian grid operator Elia, 50Hertz forms a European company: the Elia Group. We work together intensively on key issues. Individual areas such as IT or purchasing are group functions, i.e. Elia and 50Hertz colleagues work in a joint team in workplaces spread across Berlin and Brussels.

• Together with your team of specialists, take responsibility for the UW primary technology and the structure of the offshore substation in the Baltic Sea offshore operation.
• What makes this job interesting: 50Hertz has long been committed to the energy transition. For the operation of the 50Hertz offshore grid connections, we are looking for a design-minded specialist area manager for our UW primary technology team and the system structure. In cross-location cooperation (Rostock and Greifswald), you will work together with your team, consisting of specialist engineers and technicians as well as the other specialist areas and departments, to ensure the successful commissioning and safe operation of our offshore and onshore plants in the Baltic Sea.
• Your tasks
• You will actively lead and develop the team on an equal footing and ensure reliable cooperation through intensive exchange within the team and with the other specialist areas,
• You will be responsible for the reliable operation of the high and medium-voltage systems as well as the platform structure of nine offshore and four onshore substations in the future,
• You navigate the team in a structured manner through scheduled maintenance and servicing and maintain a calm and clear overview even in the event of a fault. Your aim is to ensure that the assets in your area of responsibility are always ready for operation,
• In new construction projects, you and your team take on a leading role by carrying out complex functional tests, supporting smooth commissioning and ensuring that the systems are taken into grid operation,
• As the “responsible electrician”, you will assume technical and supervisory responsibility for the high and medium-voltage systems of the offshore grid connections,
• Your team is responsible for the systems in your area of responsibility.

• Completed studies in an electrical or energy technology field,
• Willingness to shape and help build a growing team,
• Ideally initial management experience and a strong sense of responsibility,
• Experience in the field of high and/or medium voltage technology,
• Health suitability for offshore work,
• Very good knowledge of English (C1),
• Car driving license and willingness to travel.
