Officer (m/f/d) Balancing Group Accounting

As one of four transmission system operators in Germany, 50Hertz is responsible for electricity transmission at the highest voltage level; the level on which everything depends when it comes to grid stability and security of supply in Germany and Europe. We are part of a European grid network and cooperate directly with colleagues throughout Europe. Together with the Belgian grid operator Elia, 50Hertz forms a European company: the Elia Group. We work together intensively on key issues. Individual areas such as IT or purchasing are group functions, i.e. Elia and 50Hertz colleagues work in a joint team in workplaces spread across Berlin and Brussels.
Your tasks
- That’s what makes this job interesting for me: 50Hertz has been committed to the energy transition for a long time. In the balancing group management team, I am responsible for preparing the balancing group settlement, analyzing anomalies and working to continuously develop the settlement processes. In this way, I support a stable energy system and play an active role in shaping the energy transition.
- My tasks:
- Operational balancing group billing:
- Timely implementation of billing processes incl. monitoring and quality assurance,
- Supporting operational customer service for questions relating to balancing group billing,
- Data preparation, evaluation and monitoring of billing results:
- Preparation of billing data for internal and external addressees,
- Analysis and evaluation of billing data with regard to anomalies, such as breaches of forecasting obligations,
- Further development of billing and monitoring processes:
- E.g. as part of projects at 50Hertz and national committee work,
- Participation in consultation procedures and coordination of statements.
Your qualifications
- Completed studies in energy economics, economics, industrial engineering or a comparable degree program,
- Strong analytical, strategic and conceptual skills,
- High degree of independence, initiative and organizational skills,
- Very good communication and teamwork skills,
- Very good language skills in German (C1) and English (B2).
- Not a must, but an advantage:
- Very good knowledge of the relevant regulatory basics (such as standard balancing group contract, MaBiS),
- Work experience in the field of market communication or the energy industry,
- Experience in the management/implementation of projects,
- Strong IT affinity and experience in requirements analysis/definition and their implementation in IT systems.
