Stuttgart Netze ensures that people in Stuttgart have a reliable supply of electricity and gas around the clock. As a distribution grid operator, we are responsible for the operation, maintenance and modernization of the 5,600-kilometre-long electricity grid and the 2,100-kilometre-long gas grid in the state capital. In addition to ensuring security of supply, we are investing in the further development of the grids in order to meet the increasing demands of the energy transition and create a sustainable energy infrastructure in Stuttgart. We also look after 74,000 street lights for the city of Stuttgart. As a subsidiary of Stadtwerke Stuttgart, we support the state capital of Stuttgart on its path to climate neutrality by 2035 with around 600 employees.

Your tasks

  • Varied tasks await you
  • Technical responsibility: You will be responsible for the topic of protection technology at the medium and high-voltage level
  • Expertise & coordination: You are the central point of contact for technical issues relating to secondary technology with a focus on protection technology
  • Maintenance and operation: You coordinate operational issues relating to the maintenance of secondary technology, such as the creation and testing of test routines for protection repetition tests
  • Project work: Collaboration in the project environment, for example in new substation construction projects or secondary technology renewal measures
  • Planning and implementation: You create protection concepts, carry out the associated network calculations and create the parameterization for our protection relays
  • Strategy and technological development: You work in expert groups on the design of substations and develop strategic decisions for the further development of secondary technology
  • Operational interface: You work out fault clearance measures, support commissioning activities and deal with our secondary technology suppliers when procuring spare parts
  • On-call service: Participation in the secondary technology on-call service

Your qualifications

  • Qualifications: A degree in engineering (e.g. electrical or power engineering, ideally specializing in grid protection) – alternatively equivalent training with sound professional experience
  • Personality & working style: You have a confident manner, work independently and are highly team-oriented
  • Experience & industry knowledge: Ideally, you have knowledge of secondary technology/protection technology
  • Technical understanding & IT skills: You are proficient in using MS Office and ideally have experience in working with circuit diagrams and engineering software from common protection relay manufacturers (Siemens, Schneider Electric, Sprecher Automation, Omicron)
  • Mobility: A class B driving license rounds off your profile
