Division Manager (m/f/d) Future of Energy Supply
Dena’s mission is to contribute to the success of the energy transition. As a competence center for applied energy transition and climate protection, it supports the German government in achieving its energy and climate policy goals. To this end, it brings together partners from politics, business, science and all parts of society. Nationally and internationally, dena develops solutions for climate neutrality and puts them into practice.
The “Future of Energy Supply” department deals in particular with strategic, technical-economic and regulatory issues that will enable Germany to achieve a secure, clean and affordable energy supply. In addition to the expansion of renewable energies in the electricity and heating sector, the conversion and expansion of the grid-based energy infrastructure, the development of new markets for hydrogen and its derivatives, this also includes ensuring resilience.
Your tasks
- Member of the company’s senior management with a direct reporting duty to the Executive Board
- Overall technical, organizational and commercial responsibility for the “Future of Energy Supply” division consisting of the Renewable Energies, Electricity and Hydrogen & Resilience working areas with around 100 employees
- Development and implementation of energy policy consulting projects, in particular for federal ministries and companies in the energy industry, both in Germany and internationally
- External representation of the organization towards politics, associations, science and the media
- Moderation of conferences and presentation of specialist lectures at public and non-public events
- Further development of internal structures in project, process and knowledge management
Your qualifications
- Very good university degree (Master’s/Diploma) in the field of natural sciences, economics, engineering or political sciences or a comparable course of study
- Many years of experience in managing organizational units and projects, including personnel management
- Excellent knowledge of the energy system (electricity, district heating, gas/hydrogen) as well as the political, technical-economic and regulatory issues arising from the energy and climate policy goals of the German government
- Appreciative and impact-oriented understanding of leadership
- Committed appearance and resilient network in energy policy in Berlin
- Very good command of written and spoken English and negotiating skills at national and international level
- A high level of motivation, commitment, independent action and strong communication skills as well as a willingness to travel are required
