Climate Protection Coordinator (m/f/d)

The district of Grafschaft Bentheim is actively committed to climate protection and the achievement of climate targets. As part of the implementation of the climate protection pioneer concept, an engineer is being sought who will be responsible for the planning, coordination and implementation of measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This position is central to achieving greenhouse gas neutrality by 2040 and offers the opportunity to play an active role in shaping a sustainable future.

Your tasks

  • Developing and refining climate protection strategies and concepts in coordination with internal and external stakeholders
  • Advising and supporting the municipalities belonging to the district on the use of climate protection funding
  • Developing action plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
  • Identifying synergies and potential for climate-friendly solutions in existing processes and projects
  • Management of working groups, coordination with specialist departments, external partners and funding providers
  • Collecting, analyzing and evaluating data on the greenhouse gas balance and the progress of measures
  • Further development of indicators and monitoring systems to monitor success

Your qualifications

  • A successfully completed degree in technical engineering or natural sciences with a focus on the environment, sustainability, climate protection or a comparable field of study
  • Knowledge in the areas of greenhouse gas balancing, energy efficiency and renewable energies as well as experience in public relations is desirable
  • High level of initiative, strong communication skills and a structured way of working
  • Identification with the goals of climate protection and sustainability
  • Enjoy networking and interdisciplinary cooperation
