Electronics technician for street lighting
Working for a city that moves and for people who want to make a difference.
The state capital of Kiel is an employer for all those who are not just looking for a job, but a task with an impact: for climate, mobility, education, living together and the future of a growing city.
What sets us apart is the diversity of perspectives that come together here: from administration, IT and technology to social affairs, planning and communication. And from people who bring their experience from other areas to the administration. This results in solutions that take Kiel a step further every day.
Kiel. Shaping and managing together!
The state capital of Kiel has a lighting network of approx. 19,700 lighting points with approx. 21,700 luminaires and a connected load of approx. 1.3 megawatts. The street lighting is switched and controlled by 270 switching points via a dedicated cable network and a twilight switch, which triggers the switching via a digital signal. Between 23:00 and 05:00, part of the street lighting is switched off or all new LED lights are reduced to 50% of their output. The street lighting is currently still operated by an operator. In future, we as the state capital of Kiel will take over this task ourselves.
