Land acquisition and rights management officer (m/f/d)

I create construction freedom for the energy transition projects by being responsible for the purchase of operationally necessary land and keeping an eye on the necessary line rights.
We are 50Hertz – one of the four transmission system operators (TSOs) in Germany. Together with the Belgian electricity grid operator Elia (Brussels), we form the internationally active Elia Group. At 50Hertz, more than 2,100 people work to ensure that electricity flows reliably, with low losses and optimal control over long distances at all times. As a TSO, we play a central moderating role in the realization of the energy transition from a social, technical and economic perspective. As one of four transmission system operators in Germany, 50Hertz is responsible for electricity transmission at the highest voltage level; the level on which everything depends when it comes to grid stability and security of supply in Germany and Europe. We are part of a European grid network and cooperate directly with colleagues throughout Europe. Together with the Belgian grid operator Elia, 50Hertz forms a European company: the Elia Group. We work together intensively on key issues. Individual areas such as IT or purchasing are group functions, i.e. Elia and 50Hertz colleagues work in a joint team in workplaces spread across Berlin and Brussels.

In the land acquisition / rights management team, I can be part of the vision of 100 percent renewable energies by 2032 by realizing the purchase of operationally necessary land and managing the portfolio of line rights.
• My tasks:
• Independently procuring land and rights to secure assets of the extra-high-voltage grid under private law, from the initial approach of the owners to notarization, surveying and entry in the land register,
• Independent conduct of contract negotiations,
• Negotiating compensation and calculating ground rents,
• Carrying out parcel, property rights and market value research,
• Preparation, execution and follow-up of notary appointments,
• Correspondence with authorities, notary’s offices, land consolidation authorities and land registries,
• Management of service providers,
• Commissioning of experts,
• Initiation / support of proceedings for the compulsory enforcement of building law,
• Supporting project managers and the team in the planning and evaluation of sites from a property law perspective as well as with administrative and organizational tasks,
• Management of property and pipeline rights,
• Processing of lien releases, deletions and transfers of rights,
• Re-acquisition of lost rights and protection of own rights in land readjustment procedures,
• Documentation of all processes in our databases (currently LaRA).

• Completed studies in law (Bachelor’s, Master’s, Diplom, state examination), real estate, surveying, economics or a comparable field of study,
• A high degree of personal responsibility and commitment, strong teamwork and problem-solving skills,
• Structured and independent way of working,
• Experience and assertiveness in conducting negotiations, especially those relating to land acquisition and the procurement of rights,
• Experienced handling of cadastral information and land register data,
• Strong communication and presentation skills with different target groups,
• Confident handling of standard PC software,
• Driving license class B,
• Very good knowledge of German (C1).
• Not a must, but an advantage:
• Knowledge of GIS or rights database LaRA,
• Good language skills in German (C1) and English (B2),
• Knowledge of the economic, technical and legal framework of the energy industry,
• Interest in rural areas and agricultural topics.
