OT Asset Manager for Energy Infrastructure Facilities (m/f/d)

DB Energie GmbH is Deutsche Bahn’s energy management company for the railway system in Germany. As such, we are responsible for operating the 16.7-Hz traction power grid, the 50-Hz facilities, the 110-kV traction power lines, and the DC power supply for the Hamburg / Berlin S-Bahn, as well as for renewable energy sources, such as the charging infrastructure for battery-powered trains. We are also committed to a sustainable supply of traction power and offer comprehensive energy efficiency measures for rail transport companies.

Your Responsibilities

  • We are looking for you to join DB Energie GmbH in Berlin as an OT Asset Manager for Energy Infrastructure Facilities (f/m/d) as soon as possible.
  • You will work in the Eastern Operations Division under the Berlin District Manager for Electrical Power Systems. Together with approximately 36 colleagues, you will be involved in the areas of facilities, construction, infrastructure, and operations and production. Your work environment is focused on the safe, cost-effective, and code-compliant operation of electrical power systems. In addition, you will oversee construction and infrastructure projects from planning through commissioning. Through close collaboration across various technical disciplines, you will make a significant contribution to supply security and the further development of the energy infrastructure.
  • The focus of the position is on operational and analytical OT asset management of existing facilities—particularly for 16.7-Hz systems, local control systems, substations, and telecontrol technology in the Berlin/Brandenburg region.
  • As a regional OT asset manager for energy facilities in the Berlin/Brandenburg area, you will contribute to and support the safe operation of 16.7-Hz systems, converter and power plant facilities, local control systems, substations, and telecontrol systems
  • You will collaborate across departments with colleagues from engineering, maintenance, IT, and project management to integrate OT security requirements into new facilities and projects at an early stage
  • You will ensure the structured collection, maintenance, and provision of OT plant data and ensure that documentation complies with standards
  • Together with the team, you will support the development of specific procedures and security processes, implement them, and provide long-term protection for our systems against cyber threats
  • On a day-to-day basis, you actively support the OT security team, for example, with patch, update, and vulnerability management, as well as with the implementation of defined security processes
  • Working closely with maintenance staff, you’ll share your knowledge, promote understanding of OT security, and strengthen collaboration on an equal footing
  • You will create and be responsible for documentation, guidelines, and operating procedures to ensure safe, stable, and efficient plant operations

Your Qualifications

  • A completed vocational or university degree in electrical engineering, information technology, or a comparable field of study
  • Ideally, initial or in-depth experience in the field of IT and OT security, preferably in the context of energy facilities or critical infrastructure
  • You work independently, in a structured and solution-oriented manner, and are willing to take on project-specific, cross-regional assignments
  • You are characterized by curiosity, openness to new technologies and methods, and the courage to actively help shape change
  • Strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to explain complex issues clearly round out your profile
  • You hold a Class B driver’s license
  • To ensure smooth collaboration, you have very good written and spoken German skills (C1 level)
