KRITIS Building Systems Engineer (m/f/d)

RheinNetz GmbH is a regional grid operator for the Rhineland region. RheinNetz operates, plans, and builds distribution networks for electricity and natural gas. On behalf of energy suppliers, we transport electricity and natural gas to industrial, commercial, and residential customers connected to the networks. Our company handles functions such as technical grid services, customer service, metering, revenue and cost management, regulatory management and grid access, grid planning, and asset management.

Your Responsibilities

  • As a KRITIS Building Services Engineer (m/f/d), you will ensure the technical operational readiness and functionality of all building services systems (TGA) in KRITIS-relevant control center buildings
  • You will plan, coordinate, and manage maintenance, modernization, and expansion projects for building services
  • You will actively participate in new construction and renovation projects and ensure the implementation of technical KRITIS requirements such as redundancy, fault tolerance, emergency power supply, and fire protection
  • In doing so, you ensure compliance with information security, occupational safety, fire safety, and environmental protection requirements within your area of responsibility
  • Your responsibilities also include creating and updating technical documentation, operating instructions, and maintenance plans for critical infrastructure components, as well as evaluating risk analyses and deriving appropriate measures to minimize risk
  • In addition, you will coordinate technical collaboration with internal departments, external service providers, and relevant authorities, and manage external partners in the context of operations, maintenance, and technical projects
  • In addition, you will support the creation and further development of emergency and recovery plans for building services systems and provide technical input during audits, certifications, and technical inspections
  • You will independently identify opportunities for improvement in your work processes, actively contribute to optimizations, and report any identified deficiencies or violations of occupational safety and environmental protection regulations to the appropriate supervisors

Your Qualifications

  • Profile
  • You hold a degree from a business or administrative academy, have completed a program at a vocational academy, or have a bachelor’s degree in safety engineering, safety technology, or a comparable qualification
  • You already have several years of professional experience—at least two to six years—in the field of security technology
  • You have excellent knowledge of perimeter security, intrusion detection, video surveillance, fire safety, and emergency response concepts
  • You have in-depth knowledge of KRITIS/BSI fundamentals, NIS2, and the KRITIS umbrella law
  • You have already acquired advanced knowledge of verification, reporting, and documentation requirements for operators of critical infrastructure
  • You have advanced knowledge of project management and working with Microsoft 365
  • You impress with strong analytical skills and approach complex issues in a structured and solution-oriented manner
  • You are characterized by a high degree of personal responsibility and a conscientious and reliable work ethic
  • With your customer- and service-oriented approach, you are a competent point of contact for our internal and external stakeholders
  • You have a good command of written and spoken German

  • This position is compensated at pay grade 11 in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement for utility companies (TV-V). For a full-time position, this corresponds to a gross annual salary of approximately 68,000–89,000 euros (depending on professional experience and qualifications).
