Strategic Buyer (m/f/d)
Your Responsibilities
- As a Strategic Buyer (m/f/d), you’ll play a key role in expanding our hydrogen and green gas network. You’ll independently develop smart procurement strategies, manage (Europe-wide) tenders, and negotiate contracts with tact and foresight. You won’t just go along with the flow—you’ll make a difference! You’ll contribute your expertise, thrive on complex challenges, and play an active role in shaping the future. In our collaborative teams, you can effectively apply your skills, further develop your subject-matter expertise, and help us shape the future of sustainable energy supply.
- You bring structure to complex service processes—with foresight, you manage service procurement so that projects not only work—but inspire.
- You’ll develop procurement strategies for service procurement in your assigned product groups and ensure their consistent implementation.
- You will conduct tenders—including some EU-wide tenders in accordance with the Sector Regulation (SektVO)—as well as negotiations and contract signings.
- You will analyze procurement markets, identify procurement risks and opportunities, and derive appropriate measures from these findings.
- You’ll drive the implementation of our sustainability strategy together with your suppliers.
- Like a conductor, you will coordinate a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders to bring their diverse interests together.
Your Qualifications

- You’re interested in purchasing.
- You have a degree in industrial engineering or business administration, or you have completed vocational training and have many years of professional experience.
- You have several years of experience in strategic procurement, ideally in the infrastructure sector.
- You have experience with Europe-wide procurement procedures in accordance with the Sectors Regulation. A plus—but not a requirement.
- Reliable and communicative—
- You impress with strong communication skills and remain confident even during negotiations.
- You think strategically, enjoy analyzing details, and use that insight to develop well-thought-out concepts.
- You perform at your best as part of a team—providing your own ideas, setting a clear course, and bringing the necessary persuasiveness to the table.
- You don’t wait for the starting signal—you set the pace yourself and turn ideas into real momentum.
