Operations Control Supervisor (m/f/d)

RheinNetz GmbH is a regional grid operator for the Rhineland region. RheinNetz operates, plans, and builds distribution networks for electricity and natural gas. On behalf of energy suppliers, we transport electricity and natural gas to industrial, commercial, and residential customers connected to the networks. Our company handles functions such as technical grid services, customer service, metering, revenue and cost management, regulatory management and grid access, grid planning, and asset management.
As an employer, we offer varied and responsible roles, performance-based compensation, and excellent benefits. Our employees work in an attractive professional environment with opportunities for individual growth and a modern corporate culture.

Your Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities
  • You provide technical guidance to the employees assigned to you as part of the resource planning process. In doing so, you review tasks and assignments, assess schedules for capacity feasibility, and provide feedback on feasibility
  • Efficient resource management is also part of your responsibilities: you ensure high and consistent capacity utilization, detect over- and under-capacity early on, and identify critical resources—supported by annual, monthly, weekly, and daily schedules
  • In addition, you make make-or-buy decisions within defined parameters and schedule in-house staff, service providers, materials, vehicles, and production aids for construction, operations, and maintenance processes
  • You will also efficiently manage call-offs under framework agreements and oversee bidding and contracting processes to ensure optimal utilization of service providers
  • Providing telephone consultations to customers on issues related to the construction of grid connections is also part of your daily routine
  • When deploying both in-house staff and service providers simultaneously, you coordinate all scheduling processes
  • Furthermore, you will assist in the creation, review, and adjustment of guidelines for work planning and coordinate closely with operations managers
  • In addition, you will request aerial image analyses and other permits (e.g., traffic regulations, work on federal, county, and state roads, work on KVB facilities) and incorporate their feedback into operational management
  • Within your area of responsibility, you will assign tasks based on your employees’ skills and ensure that substitution arrangements are in place
  • You conduct orientations, briefings, and training sessions on technical topics as well as on occupational safety and environmental protection—and ensure that these are consistently applied
  • You handle project-related special tasks independently and with a focus on finding solutions
  • Finally, you review service provider invoices, including technical documentation

Your Qualifications

  • Profile
  • You have completed vocational training with additional qualifications or further education, such as a master craftsman (m/f/d), a business specialist in utilities or electrical engineering, or in a comparable field
  • In addition, you have several years of experience in the relevant field at a utility company—ideally in the area of operations control
  • You apply your knowledge of relevant legal and technical regulations as well as applicable guidelines with confidence and expertise
  • You also have in-depth knowledge of the tendering and awarding of service contracts
  • Experience in goal- and results-oriented staff coordination is just as important for this role as advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 and SAP
  • You have also worked with workforce management systems and use them efficiently
  • Analytical skills, openness to change, and a good understanding of business contexts round out your profile
