As Head of the Gas/Water Services Department, you will ensure that network operations in Solingen are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with recognized technical standards. You will lead the department’s three teams, oversee operational activities in the gas and water networks, and be responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of all facilities. At the same time, you will further develop processes and guidelines, ensure compliance with technical and legal standards, and assume key responsibilities in accordance with DVGW regulations.
Disciplinary and technical leadership of the Gas/Water Service Department, comprising the G/W Installation, G/W Operations, and Gas Systems teams, with a total of 30 employees
Responsible management of operational and installation work in Solingen’s public gas and water networks, as well as the organization of the emergency repair service for gas and water
Ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of gas stations and conducting scheduled pipeline network inspections
Assuming the role of “Designated Specialist for the Entire Scope of Gas System Maintenance” in accordance with DVGW G 493-2
Developing new processes and procedures to ensure efficient and cost-effective network operations
Preparing procedural, work, and operating instructions
As needed: Participating in the on-call duty roster as the engineer on duty
What You'll Bring to the Table
A master’s degree in engineering in a relevant field
Several years of professional experience in a leadership role with personnel responsibility
In-depth knowledge of gas/water network operations and GDRM systems, as well as several years of professional experience in the construction and/or maintenance of gas facilities
Exceptional leadership skills, strong communication skills, and a professional demeanor
An independent, structured, and goal-oriented approach to work
