Your new area of responsibility:

Technical management, coordination, and strategic direction of project work on European and national packaging policy, with a focus on reusable and single-use deposit systems; other relevant topics, to a lesser extent, include chemical recycling and bioplastics
Drafting policy statements and background papers
Conceiving, planning, and executing events as well as dialogue sessions with decision-makers and stakeholders in the circular economy sector, such as the Reuse Conference in Brussels
Representing the DUH at meetings, conferences, and in European and national networks such as the Break Free From Plastic Movement
Preparing and supporting press and public relations efforts in collaboration with our newsroom and the campaign team
Assisting with the DUH’s legal proceedings
Further developing the concepts behind these topics
Creating campaign and informational materials

Your Profile:

Degree or training in environmental sciences, circular economy, technical environmental protection, or a comparable field
Ideally, relevant professional experience
Familiarity with legal standards governing the circular economy (e.g., EU Packaging Directive, Packaging Act, Waste Framework Directive, Circular Economy Act)
Strong political and strategic thinking
Willingness to familiarize yourself with subject-specific topics and positions
Enjoyment of scientifically grounded work, a high degree of initiative and independence, a strong commitment to performance, and excellent teamwork skills
Experience in project management and, ideally, in securing project funding
Very good English skills as well as solid computer skills
