Balancing Group Manager, Energy Markets (m/f/d)

Locations: Essen (NRW), Munich (BY)

Your Responsibilities

  • Operational Balancing Group Management: Ensuring the precise, compliant, and efficient execution of core energy industry processes (MaBiS & Gabi-Gas) in Germany and other European markets (preferred), with a focus on balancing group and supply management, market communication, as well as billing and reporting
  • Energy Industry: Monitoring regulatory and legal changes in the electricity and gas markets, with a focus on market roles such as supplier and balancing group manager, as well as the flexibility market
  • Process & Quality Management: Ensuring efficient processes and continuously optimizing workflows and the handling of complex customer requirements (Germany & Europe)
  • Interface & Stakeholder Management: Close collaboration with short-term trading, schedule management, direct and battery marketing, and origination

Your Profile

  • Several years of experience in the energy market, particularly in the market roles of balancing group manager and/or electricity and gas supplier
  • Experience in establishing and managing balancing group structures in European foreign markets, as well as in-depth knowledge of cross-border market processes
  • Comprehensive knowledge of energy industry processes and market communication, particularly in the market roles of balancing group manager and supplier
  • Deep understanding of flexibility markets as well as the mechanisms and processes in the balancing reserve and spot market environments (electricity)
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a comparable qualification
  • Business fluency in spoken and written German and English
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work in a team, and flexibility
  • Analytical thinking, structured and solution-oriented approach to work
  • Strong communication skills, initiative, and the ability to get things done
