Building services technician

Radio, television, online and social media – we are Hessen’s largest media company. Building technology in the area of operations management and services is the reliable guarantor for the smooth 24/7 operation of the technical infrastructure for the production of our media offerings. Our department is responsible for the planning, installation and maintenance of the technical systems that supply all Hessischer Rundfunk (hr) properties with sustainable energy.
As part of the Central Control Room team, you will work with other employees to control and monitor central technical infrastructures. This includes in particular the supply of electricity, heating, cooling and water to hr properties.
At the earliest possible date, we are looking for a temporary position for five years for a

Your tasks

  • Continuous monitoring of technical supply and building services systems (including electricity, heating, cooling, water)
  • Control and monitoring of energy supply systems via the building management system with a focus on operational safety and efficiency
  • Analyzing faults, intervening immediately if limit values are exceeded and initiating suitable measures
  • Receiving, processing and coordinating fault reports in collaboration with internal departments and external service personnel
  • Monitoring high and low-voltage systems, emergency power systems, UPS systems as well as rectifier and high-current battery systems
  • Monitoring of hazard alarm systems, including fire alarm systems, police emergency calls, elevator emergency calls and building alarm systems
  • Carrying out, evaluating and documenting load, consumption and network measurements
  • Carrying out and documenting load and consumption measurements and
  • Planning and implementation of maintenance and testing measures, taking into account ongoing production and transmission operations
  • Working in continuous shift operation (24/7)

Your qualifications

  • Completed training in an electrical engineering profession (e.g. energy and building technology, operating technology, automation technology); further training as a master craftsman or technician is desirable
  • Several years of professional experience in the operation, monitoring or maintenance of building services or energy supply systems, ideally in a control room or comparable operating environment
  • Sound knowledge of building and building control technology and fault management
  • Responsible, structured and reliable way of working and ability to make decisions
  • Strong communication skills and an objective, collegial approach to internal and external interfaces
  • Confident handling of Office 365 applications and technical documentation
  • Willingness to work in shifts, to rectify faults at short notice and to undergo continuous professional development
  • Class B driving license and flexible willingness to work
