Your tasks
- Creating specifications for photovoltaic and battery inverters based on the guidelines of the grid operators and the applicable American standards (primarily UL incl. IEEE and CSA)
- Participation in the derivation of specifications and review of existing specifications
- Accompanying and carrying out standard-compliant measurements for certification (in particular grid connection USA), including setup, procedure and support:
- Coordinating external testing institutes and laboratories
- Carrying out in-house measurements and creating self-declaration reports
- Clarifying technical issues with hardware and software teams
- Developing certification-relevant inverter simulation models
- Active participation in standardization committees for early identification of technical trends
- Providing specialist support to related departments on technical issues
- Regular exchange with our US colleagues – including occasional trips to America
Your qualifications
- Completed studies in the field of electrical engineering, energy systems or comparable training, ideally with further training as an electrician
- Experience in grid compliance, certification, approval or a comparable field desirable
- In-depth knowledge of relevant US standards and requirements for our products, such as UL1741, CSA C22.2, IEEE 1547, UL50E, UL1998 and NEC
- Basic knowledge of power electronics
- Knowledge of simulation models such as PowerFactory, PSCAD or PSSE is an advantage
- Experience with laboratory equipment and test setups is advantageous
- Very good written and spoken English skills
- Good knowledge of German is a great advantage
- Solid knowledge of MS Office
