Climate protection manager
The town of Schenefeld is a young, lively and forward-looking town that takes particular account of environmental protection issues. Due to its location in the Hamburg metropolitan region, it faces major challenges in combining urban development and climate change. The town of Schenefeld was certified as an energy-efficient municipality back in 2015 and is in the process of implementing and continuously developing a comprehensive energy and climate protection program in various fields of action. Following the creation of a climate protection concept, it is now being implemented.
Your tasks
- The position is a staff position with the task of implementing the integrated municipal climate protection concept of the town of Schenefeld.
- Initiating and supporting individual measures from the climate protection concept
- Consolidation of the climate protection management
- Climate check for draft resolutions
- Urban climate analysis
- Renovation offensive
- Implementation of specific measures to achieve reduction targets
- Municipal heat planning
- Expansion of photovoltaics and solar thermal energy
- Expansion and transformation of the heating network
- Development of climate protection marketing
- Accompanying information and public relations work for the climate protection concept
- Development of municipal energy and climate protection controlling
- Funding management
- Reporting in political committees
Your qualifications
- A degree in engineering / Bachelor of Science with an alternative focus on environment, energy and climate protection management, geography, sustainability, spatial planning with a focus on environment and energy or a comparable field of study
- Several years of professional experience
- Sound specialist knowledge of climate protection
- Qualified knowledge of local and national climate protection targets, legislation and GHG balances
- Experience in climate protection management and project management
- Knowledge of funding management in the field of energy and climate protection
- Commitment, personal responsibility and assertiveness
- The ability to think holistically and conceptually
- Very good written and oral communication skills in German (level C2)
