Referent (f/m/d) Production with focus on Europe

The energy supply will be renewable, climate-neutral and highly flexible by 2045 at the latest. The accelerated expansion of renewable energies in the electricity sector and the restructuring of the energy system, which are essential for this, are at the heart of the work of the BDEW's "Generation and System Integration" division. In addition to the wide range of generation issues relating to renewable and conventional energies, the division deals in particular with issues relating to the flexibilization of the generation fleet, electricity storage, renewable energies as a central element of the electricity market and the flexible generation of electricity and heat using highly efficient CHP plants.

The preparation of topics and the development of solutions are carried out in close cooperation with our member companies, which often send long-standing experts and managers, including company management, to the relevant BDEW committees, as well as in cross-divisional and cross-departmental project teams.

Your tasks

  • Supporting legislative procedures relevant to generation at EU level
  • Interface function between the Generation and System Integration division (Berlin) and the BDEW representation in Brussels
  • Development of technical statements, argumentation papers and industry positions
  • Observation and analysis of legislative and regulatory developments at European and national level
  • Involvement in internal association committees and representation on external committees
  • Processing and publishing specialist topics in the association's specific media and designing specialist events

Your profile

  • Successful degree as an (industrial) engineer, economist or comparable course of study with a focus on energy management (Diploma / Master's degree)
  • First practical experience in the energy industry, especially in the field of power generation is an advantage
  • Knowledge of energy policy and economic contexts and legislation as well as strategic thinking and a good understanding of complex contexts and processes
  • Confident appearance combined with a high level of empathy, enjoyment of independent work and communication, negotiating skills, good verbal and written expression and the ability to prepare specialist topics for the political field in a concise and understandable way
  • Very good written and spoken English skills and very good knowledge of common Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
