Consultant (m/f/d) electricity market

Your tasks

  • As part of the Electricity division in the ‘Future of Energy Supply’ department, you will make a direct contribution to the success of the energy transition. We are working on many exciting projects relating to renewable power generation, electricity grids and market design. You will be working directly on the decarbonization of the German energy system and ensuring that Germany becomes climate-neutral by 2045.
  • Writing and evaluating qualitative and quantitative energy policy analyses, background papers and briefings;
  • Preparing and giving presentations and speeches and participating in expert exchanges;
  • Conception, preparation and implementation of stakeholder processes and specialist events for various actors from politics, business, science and civil society;
  • Conception, planning, management and controlling of (sub-)projects;
  • Communication with the client;
  • Concise and target group-oriented preparation of specialist content for communication formats for different target groups.

Your qualifications

  • You are keen to play an active role in implementing the energy transition and work closely with the federal ministries, in particular the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection.
  • You have a degree in economics, engineering or a comparable course of study;
  • You have several years of professional or practical experience in the context of electricity market issues, electricity market regulation or electricity trading.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of the key challenges of the energy transition and are familiar with the political landscape and market players.
  • They have an in-depth understanding of the existing regulatory framework and the economic interrelationships in the field of the electricity market, including European requirements.
  • You will have knowledge of the financing of power plants, storage facilities and flexibility as well as security of supply and electricity market modeling.
  • You have strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as the interest and flexibility to familiarize yourself with new and complex issues.
  • You have the ability to present issues concisely and condense them into decision-ready recommendations/options.
  • You demonstrate a high level of commitment when dealing with representatives of companies and public institutions.
