Data Analyst / Data Scientist (f/m/d) – Forecasts for solar and wind power
Together with our partner companies emsys VPP and emsys grid services, we at energy & meteo systems do our best every day to efficiently integrate renewable energies into electricity grids and markets. To this end, we offer our customers – electricity traders and grid operators worldwide – pioneering software products and full services. In addition to wind and solar power forecasts, these include virtual power plants for controlling decentralized energy systems and a platform concept for forward-looking grid planning.
Your tasks
- As a Data Analyst, you will work at the interface between programming, statistics and critical thinking. Your range of tasks:
- With your data sets, you lay the foundation for professional analyses and thus ensure the best possible quality of our forecasts.
- You will validate performance forecasts using existing statistical and analysis tools.
- Process analysis: To further develop the content and operations of our forecasting system, you will use appropriate data science methods, uncover internal process weaknesses and develop concepts for optimization.
- You will also be involved in internal and external projects, including the provision of statistically relevant data, and will be responsible for project management.
- You will work closely with our meteorology, research and software development teams.
Your qualifications
- You have a degree in engineering or natural sciences in data science / analytics, mathematics, (geo)physics, meteorology or a comparable field.
- Ideally, you have gained your first professional experience in the field of data analysis, big data, artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML), preferably as a data analytics manager, data engineer or in a similar role.
- In any case, you are familiar with statistics, analysis methods and algorithms – experience in software development and Python programming is also desirable.
- For you, data analysis is a bit like detective work: you like to look for clues that lead you to the core and deal with complex issues – you have the analytical strength to understand and question
- Understanding and questioning.
- We can also rely on your commitment in time-critical phases – even beyond core working hours, you support your team and always focus on the goal.
- You communicate in a team-oriented manner and feel confident in both German and English; additional language skills are an advantage.
- We welcome additional knowledge about renewable energies, energy markets or numerical weather forecasts and maybe you have even set up a weather model – you are always happy to learn.
