Electrical engineer / electrical foreman (m/f/d) Power grid management

Your tasks

  • Your area of responsibility: You will be responsible for coordinating and instructing switching operations to isolate faults and restore supplies, as well as switching and controlling in remote-controlled systems (medium and high voltage). It is important to anticipate possible developments in real-time operation and to act with foresight.
  • Fault processing: You record faults and process them independently in the switching instruction area.
  • Monitoring: You will be trained to monitor the remote-controlled and remote-monitored systems and coordinate scheduled switching operations with the partners in switching operations.
  • Documentation: Tracking switching statuses and evaluating measurement data in the PRINS grid control system are also part of your daily tasks.

Your qualifications

  • Education: You have successfully completed an electrical engineering apprenticeship, ideally a master craftsman (m/f/d)/technician (m/f/d), or a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Experience: Ideally, you have professional experience in dealing with high-voltage networks or in power current monitoring. If not, you are willing to undergo further training accordingly.
  • Qualifications: At best, you have a switching license for medium and high-voltage grids or are interested in acquiring one.
  • Soft skills: You enjoy working independently and on your own responsibility and have a high level of safety awareness. Your service-oriented, professional appearance and good communication skills, even in confusing situations, round off your profile.

Benefits

  • Working hours: You are prepared to work in three intervals: Early shift, late shift and night shift on seven consecutive days. You then have up to five days off. This means you can plan your private life and have more flexibility in how you spend your free time. You will receive up to seven additional vacation days per year for the regular night shifts. When planning your shifts, we take great care to ensure that you have enough time off. When your shift is over, your team colleagues (m/f/d) will take over your current tasks – so you can go back to your private life with a clear head.
  • Key role: In your role, you actively contribute to ensuring that Potsdam remains as liveable as it is.
  • Job security: A permanent position in a crisis-proof company.
  • Work-life balance: 38 hours per week and consideration of private matters.
  • Remuneration: A collectively agreed salary plus an attractive special payment for working in a 24/7 shift system in accordance with AVEU. We pay a 13th monthly salary and a performance-related special payment.
  • Time off: 30 days of vacation per year plus up to seven additional vacation days due to shift work.
  • Mobility: Subsidy for the VBB or Deutschland-Ticket.
  • Health: Offers for employee swimming, occupational health care, height-adjustable and modern workstations, company pension scheme, sports and employee events and much more.
  • Development: A wide range of personal and professional development opportunities.
  • Shopping: Our corporate benefits portal gives you access to various discounts from over 800 well-known product and event providers, e.g. Adidas, Apple and many more. We also offer our employees an attractive electricity discount.
  • Don’t hesitate to apply, even if your qualifications don’t match our requirements in every respect.

Welcome to your network of opportunities
At Netzgesellschaft Potsdam GmbH, we don’t spin stories, we ensure the stability and energy flow in the grids of tomorrow. Your mission as an energy hero (m/f/d) with us: to provide people and companies in the region with a secure and reliable supply of electricity, gas, district heating and water.
Do you want to turn the knobs with us?
To ensure that the electricity supply system can be operated safely and reliably, all switching operations in the grid must be precisely coordinated. This involves monitoring the status of the transmission grid, the connected power plants and the connected and neighboring grids in real time. The aim is to avoid overloads and blackouts and to control faults in order to quickly restore the system to a safe state.
