Division IIIC—Technical Services—with its approximately 85 employees (engineers, maintenance technicians, and administrative staff), ensures technical operations through 24/7 availability of all technical facilities and systems (including laboratory technology and veterinary medicine) as well as building maintenance for the university’s facilities, thereby enabling research and teaching at a high level.
Her main responsibilities include, among other things:
Operation of building services systems, particularly electrical systems—but also across all trades—in compliance with technical standards and legal regulations
Independent performance of diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair work, as well as maintenance and upkeep tasks
Providing professional supervision and assistance during legally required and operationally necessary inspections and acceptance tests
Management of outside contractors, monitoring the work performance of contracting firms, and verifying that work is performed in accordance with accepted engineering practices and that final acceptance is completed
Recording and reporting technical and structural defects during operations
This position requires participation in an on-call rotation.
Employment Requirements:
Completed training in a field related to the position (e.g., electrician, electronics technician, electrical systems installer, electrical installer, mechatronics technician, or related professions specializing in electrical engineering).
Applicants are expected to have a high level of proficiency in spoken and written German (German language level C1).
At least three years of professional experience in a comparable field working on multi-trade systems (ELT and HSK).
Class B driver’s license
Cross-trade and system-specific technical/specialized knowledge, as applicable, obtained through continuing education (e.g., certificate of competence for the operation of building and facilities engineering systems or certificate of competence for the connection of electrical systems, Certificate of Competence in Technical Regulations for Electrical Installations (TREI) or similar)
Authorization to perform switching operations up to 10 kV,
Manufacturer-specific certificates of competence or system-specific additional qualifications/upskilling training for the maintenance, repair, and parameterization of complex electrical systems.
A strong sense of responsibility and service orientation, exceptional diligence, analytical skills, and an understanding of both organizational and technical aspects.
