Dena’s mission is to contribute to the success of the energy transition. As a competence center for applied energy transition and climate protection, it supports the German government in achieving its energy and climate policy goals. To this end, it brings together partners from politics, business, science and all parts of society. Nationally and internationally, dena develops solutions for climate neutrality and puts them into practice.

Your tasks

  • As part of the Renewable Energies working area in the ‘Future of Energy Supply’ department, you will make a direct contribution to the success of the energy transition. We work on many exciting projects relating to the topics of market integration of renewable energies, renewable sector coupling and transformation of the heat supply with a focus on renewable supply concepts for electricity and electrification of heat. You will work on an application-oriented basis with public actors, companies and stakeholders from science and practice to increase transparency and develop new solutions in the energy system.
  • Your tasks will include the following activities:
  • Collaboration in the market-related further development of electricity certificates of origin (COOs) with a focus on temporal granularity
  • Analysis of regulatory framework conditions, economic application models and technical infrastructures
  • Conception of analyses and specialist events in cooperation with external stakeholders
  • Supporting the market development of electricity-based renewable supply models, particularly in the context of Power Purchase Agreements (PPA)
  • Maintaining relevant networks and supporting the market offensive for renewable energies
  • Further development of topics at the interface of energy trading, financing and electricity procurement strategies

Your qualifications

  • Degree in economics, law, engineering, political or social sciences, sustainability management or a comparable course of study
  • Initial professional or practical experience in the field of guarantees of origin (HKN), electricity marketing or renewable supply models as well as a high level of motivation to help shape the market integration of renewable energies
  • Ideally knowledge of relevant accounting standards (e.g. GHG Protocol / Scope 2) and the interplay between carbon credits and environmental offsets in a national context
  • Analytical and conceptual way of working and interest in complex energy industry issues
  • Affinity for technical and economic topics, combined with a good feel for language and enjoyment in writing texts
  • Confident and engaging manner when dealing with companies and public institutions
  • Strong organizational and communication skills as well as the ability to work in a team
  • Good written and spoken German and English skills
  • The position is full-time and initially limited to two years with the option of permanent employment.
