Engineer Energy Procurement / Energy Supply (m/f/d)
We are looking for you for the Office for Environmental Protection of the City of Stuttgart. The position is open-ended.
The Energy Department of the Office for Environmental Protection is technically responsible for and coordinates the implementation of the energy and climate protection concept adopted by the City Council with the aim of making the City of Stuttgart climate-neutral as quickly as possible. The aim is to convert the electricity supply of the approx. 1,300 municipal properties to renewable self-supply and to ensure the security and cost-effectiveness of the energy and water supply.
Your tasks
- You check the legal regulations on energy saving (e.g. EnSimiMaV, GEG etc.) with regard to their applicability to municipal properties
- Your tasks include the conception, further development, implementation and monitoring of the implementation of energy-saving measures in municipal buildings
- You will apply for funding for energy-related refurbishment measures in municipal buildings
- You will support the allocation and management of ongoing procurement of biogenic gas for municipal properties
- You update and develop the disaster control plans to ensure the infrastructure for gas and district heating in close cooperation with the lower disaster control authority
- You will be involved in national and international research projects
- We reserve the right to change or add to the scope of duties.
Your qualifications
- Engineer with a scientific university degree (Master’s or Diploma) in the fields of industrial engineering, electrical engineering, energy, building or environmental engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering or related courses of study (in the case of foreign degrees, presentation of state recognition in Germany is required)
- Sound specialist knowledge in the fields of energy markets and energy technology
- The ability to familiarize yourself quickly and independently with complex tasks and processes
- High willingness to represent and implement concepts both internally and externally and to successfully implement targeted measures; you are characterized by a confident and communicative manner
- Very good written and oral communication skills in German and good knowledge of common IT applications
