Engineer for energy transition and photovoltaics (m/f/d)

Your tasks

  • You will design and plan photovoltaic systems including building selection, profitability calculations and coordination with specialist planners, service providers and municipal organizational units
  • You will also be responsible for closely supervising the implementation of the photovoltaic systems by specialist companies and IT-supported operational monitoring of the systems
  • You will develop and implement innovative concepts in the areas of solar and storage technology as well as monitoring and presentation for their users
  • You will be involved in the creation of standards for development plans and urban development contracts, in the design of funding programs for photovoltaics and in research programs
  • In addition to activities in the field of photovoltaics, your tasks will also include the development and implementation of concepts to reduce energy and water consumption in complex and energy-intensive properties
  • We reserve the right to change or add to the scope of duties.

Your qualifications

  • Engineer (Bachelor / FH / TU / BA) in the field of electrical or energy engineering or related courses of study or other employees (master electrician or technician) who have equivalent skills and experience (in the case of foreign degrees, presentation of state recognition in Germany is required)
  • Sound specialist knowledge in the areas of photovoltaics and power applications
  • Knowledge of the low-voltage sector is desirable
  • The ability to familiarize yourself quickly and independently with complex tasks and processes
  • High willingness to represent and enforce concepts in the municipal organizational units and to implement measures in a targeted manner, with a confident and communicative manner
  • Good communication skills in German and English as well as good knowledge of the usual IT applications

The Energy Department of the Office for Environmental Protection is responsible for and coordinates the implementation of the energy and climate protection concept adopted by the municipal council with the aim of making the state capital of Stuttgart climate-neutral as quickly as possible. The city is playing a pioneering role in the field of photovoltaics and is pursuing the goal of installing photovoltaic systems on all suitable buildings.
