Engineer for protection technology/network protection in the energy supply (m/f/d)

As a distribution grid operator in the regions of Heinsberg, Mönchengladbach, Viersen and parts of the Rhine district of Neuss, NEW Netz GmbH plays a key role in making the energy transition a success. We are responsible for the operation, planning, maintenance and expansion of the local and regional electricity, natural gas and drinking water distribution network as well as the operation of metering points. Your tasks
- You plan, develop and implement protection concepts for electrical installations and systems
- You will also be responsible for carrying out risk analyses and developing safety strategies
- You monitor and optimize the protection systems, carry out commissioning and take care of regular inspections – all with the aim of ensuring operational safety in the long term
- You will create technical documentation and reports
- In addition, you will support systems for voltage regulation, e-coil regulation and power quality monitoring and ensure their reliable operation
Your qualifications
- You have successfully completed a degree in electrical engineering, power engineering or a comparable field of study
- You already have professional experience in protection technology – ideally in energy supply or industry
- You have in-depth knowledge of planning and implementing protection concepts for electrical systems
- You are familiar with the relevant standards and regulations (e.g. DIN, IEC) as a matter of course
- You are characterized by analytical thinking and a structured way of working
- Team spirit and strong communication skills round off your profile
- You have a good command of written and spoken German
