Engineer in electrical engineering / power engineering as team leader in secondary technology

We are ELE. We are EVNG. We shape the energy transition. Emscher Lippe Energie, or ELE for short, stands for electricity, gas and heat in Bottrop, Gelsenkirchen and Gladbeck. EVNG, ELE Verteilnetz, takes care of the safe operation of the electricity and gas grids. Together we are the ELE Group, 680 employees, one team. Our task: to supply people and companies in the region with energy safely and in a climate-friendly way. Renewable energies, e-mobility and the digitalization of processes and grids determine our everyday life. We have big plans for the future. Will you get involved?

Your tasks

  • You will be responsible for project planning, planning and implementation of the uninterruptible power supply, regulation, protection concepts and control technology in our 110/10 kV substations and local network stations. No two days are the same: When you’re not calculating protection relay curves or grids, you’re calculating and planning the control technology for one of our substations or you’re already on your way to the next construction site. Sounds exciting? It is! And you won’t be doing all this alone – but together with your team of 7 technicians.
  • You will also deal with the following topics in your day-to-day work:
  • You coordinate and plan the maintenance and servicing of all secondary technical equipment in our substations.
  • In the growing environment of the energy transition, we are becoming more digital and our grids more intelligent: You will work with us to shape the digitalization of the local grid (SmartGrid), organize the installation and fault clearance of digital local grid stations, feed-in systems and charging parks and support the implementation of new processes. You will also be involved in the topic of controllable consumption devices.
  • You will analyze complex faults in the systems, identify weak points, calculate grid parameters and always keep an eye on how we can position ourselves even better as part of the ISMS.
  • And don’t worry, you won’t be thrown in at the deep end with us, but will be accompanied and trained by the current team leader during your first few months.

Your qualifications

  • You have successfully completed your technical studies (Dipl.-Ing. / Master) in the field of electrical engineering. It would be perfect with a focus on energy technology. Do you have a comparable qualification in a relevant field? Great, then you’ll fit in with us too.
  • No one can fool you in the field of protection and control technology: You have professional experience and expertise and are at home in the environment of the necessary laws, regulations and standards.
  • You know how to motivate a team, lead with empathy and appreciation and promote the individual development of your team members.
  • You are enthusiastic about new technologies and find it easy to familiarize yourself with new IT solutions.
  • You love to drive projects forward and carry them out successfully and in a targeted manner.

Benefits

  • You have a lot of creative freedom in your working environment and will find an open communication culture with us.
  • You can expect an informal working atmosphere with flat hierarchies and short decision-making paths.
  • Our attractive collective wage agreement regulates your financial development and the payment of 13 monthly salaries
  • You benefit from our electricity price discount of up to EUR 1,080 per year – a great extra for your wallet
  • Flexible working hours and hybrid working as part of a 38-hour week – for a better work-life balance.
  • Your 30 vacation days and an additional 13 compensatory days, which are possible via your flexitime account, provide the necessary balance. Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve are also free.
  • You will also receive a fully employer-financed company pension and benefit from numerous company agreements.
