Engineer (m/f/d) in the field of sustainable construction, climate protection and energy management

We are the building management department of the Darmstadt-Dieburg district, a modern authority in the far south of Hesse. We work tirelessly for our citizens and build, renovate and maintain all of the district’s own schools.
The Energy Management / Quality Assurance department focuses on sustainability, energy efficiency and climate protection. We work in an interdisciplinary manner with all those involved – the various departments of the Da-Di plant, the technical staff on site and the users of the schools.
To strengthen the team, we are looking for a committed person at the earliest possible date
Your tasks
- Your tasks will depend on your training and professional experience. You can support us in the following areas:
- Collaboration in interdisciplinary planning teams for new construction and refurbishment measures at schools. Responsibility for ensuring energy and structural quality on the basis of the Da-Di plant’s sustainable building guidelines
- Further development of energy and quality standards, with integration of experience from construction and operation
- Applying for funding, as well as the content and administrative handling of funding programs
- Creation of energy concepts or providing technical support when commissioning external planners
- Evaluating and compiling energy data for political inquiries and reports
- Tendering our energy supplies (wood pellets, wood chips, electricity, gas)
- Identification of deviations and optimization potential and planning of measures to reduce consumption as part of software-supported energy controlling
- Setting up meter communication and connection to our evaluation system
- Optimizing the operation of buildings in terms of energy consumption and costs
Your qualifications
- Degree in civil engineering or technology with a focus on energy, sustainability and/or climate protection
- Sound specialist knowledge in the field of energy technology, energy efficiency and renewable energies as well as knowledge of structural and technical options for CO 2 reduction
- Good knowledge of relevant laws, standards and technical regulations
- A high degree of initiative and the ability to work independently and in a structured manner on complex tasks
- Strong teamwork, communication and negotiation skills in dealing with internal and external project participants
- Class B driving license
- Professional and business fluent German language skills (C1)

- Payment depending on training and professional experience according to pay group 10 to 12 of the collective agreement for the public service (TVöD-VKA ). This corresponds to a gross annual salary of EUR 51,807 – EUR 62,562 for full-time employment.
