We think ahead. Much further. While others are planning in the here and now, we are already looking to the future: What will our electricity grid look like in 20 years? What challenges will the rise in electromobility bring with it? And how can we strategically align our grids so that they are also optimally positioned for the energy and heating transition?

Your tasks

  • For the conception, development and updating of strategic and future-oriented concepts, regional planning and network development plans, we are looking for a
  • Shaping the future: You will develop the strategic target grid planning for the electricity grids (110 kV, 10 kV, 0.4 kV) and design the grid topology. You are also in demand for the data network: you plan the networking of operating resources such as local network stations, substations, pumping stations and heat transfer stations – with a view to a smart and networked infrastructure.
  • Analysis and evaluation: You keep an eye on our grids – you continuously review and evaluate the grids and subscribers on the basis of our grid model with extensions and changes.
  • Modeling: Using the latest simulation and network calculation software, you create and update network models that serve as the basis for our strategic planning.
  • Deriving measures: You derive measures to make our electricity grids technically available and regulatory fit for the future – from increasing efficiency to digital transformation.
  • From idea to implementation: Your planning directly influences the design and expansion of our critical grid infrastructure. You also provide important technical and commercial key figures for decisions.
  • Connecting networks smartly: You plan the strategic development of the data network – from classic data transmission, fiber optics to redundant connections in the 4G/LTE or 450 MHz radio network or higher. In this way, you ensure stable networking of all operating resources across different trades.

Your qualifications

  • Education: You have successfully completed your studies with at least a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering/energy technology or comparable and have several years of professional experience. Applications from very experienced specialists, e.g. in transition to retirement, are also expressly welcome.
  • Experience: Ideally you are familiar with strategic target grid planning, the construction or operation of electricity distribution grids and have worked with grid calculation tools such as PowerFactory.
  • Knowledge of: Interpreting laws, ordinances and technical regulations and incorporating them professionally is not new territory for you. If you are familiar with SAP or GIS, all the better – if not, no problem.
  • Personality: You have a visionary mindset and want to help shape the energy world of tomorrow. You enjoy passing on your knowledge as a mentor and driving force to a motivated, committed team and developing new concepts. Whether full-time or with reduced weekly working hours – we will find the right model together.

Benefits

  • Key role: In your role, you will actively contribute to ensuring that Potsdam remains as liveable as it is.
  • Job security: A permanent position in a crisis-proof company.
  • Work-life balance: Family-friendly and flexible working hours at 38 hours per week and the option of mobile working.
  • Remuneration: A collectively agreed salary according to AVEU with 13th monthly salary and a performance-related special payment plus electricity discount.
  • Time off: 30 days vacation/year, additional time off at Christmas and New Year’s Eve, time off between public holidays and offers for sabbaticals.
  • Mobility: subsidy for VBB or Deutschlandticket.
  • Health: Offers for employee swimming, occupational health care, height-adjustable and modern workstations, company pension scheme, sports and employee events and much more.
  • Development: A wide range of personal and professional development opportunities.
  • Shopping: Discounts in various online stores through our corporate benefits portal.
