Grid Integration Specialist (m/f/d)

RheinNetz GmbH is a regional grid operator for the Rhineland region. RheinNetz operates, plans, and builds distribution networks for electricity and natural gas. On behalf of energy suppliers, we transport electricity and natural gas to industrial, commercial, and residential customers connected to the networks. Your Responsibilities

  • You will advise network customers and market partners by phone, email, online video consultation, at the customer service center, or directly on-site—with a focus on inquiries related to network connections in the district heating division
  • As a technical point of contact, you’ll be responsible for knowledge transfer regarding grid connections in the district heating division: You will train new employees (m/f/d), ensure that information on technical, legal, or energy industry changes in this area is available, and actively participate in expert groups
  • You will manage the grid connection and grid services, ensure compliance with service levels for order processing, quotations, contracts, and invoicing, and handle the planning and cost estimation of connections, including grid capacity assessments
  • In grid integration and preliminary planning, you will evaluate technical and economic supply options and develop grid connection concepts and proposals
  • In addition, you will proactively collaborate with key departments, such as district heating sales, pipeline network planning, pipeline network strategy, and district heating operations

Your Qualifications

  • Profile
  • You have a bachelor’s degree and additional training as a technician or equivalent
  • In addition, you have more than 6 years of professional experience
  • You are distinguished by a high level of expertise in advising on grid connection requests—particularly with in-depth knowledge in the district heating sector
  • Basic knowledge of the gas, water, and electricity sectors is desirable
  • You also have in-depth knowledge of the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG) and relevant regulations, such as the General Terms and Conditions for District Heating (AVBFernwärmeV)
  • You have a solid legal understanding of contractual documents

  • This position is compensated at pay grade 11 in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement for utility companies (TV-V). For a full-time position, this corresponds to a gross annual salary of approximately 67,000–88,000 euros (depending on professional experience and qualifications).
