Head (m/f/d) Policy, Strategy and Fundamental Issues Unit

Your tasks

Become part of the German Energy Agency as Head (m/f/d) of the Policy, Strategy & Policy Issues (PSG) staff unit. You will lead several teams with around 20 employees and report directly to the management. You will work with a high level of personal responsibility in a dynamic team and contribute to the successful implementation of the energy transition and the achievement of climate targets in exciting projects. You will strengthen the internal and external exchange on key issues relating to the energy transition and climate neutrality and contribute to the development of policy recommendations and strategies together with the specialist departments.

Your tasks will include:

  • Management of the staff unit with approx. 20 employees
  • Strategic development of the staff unit and its three teams "Energy and climate policy", "Strategy and fundamental issues" and "Statistics and analyses"
  • Strengthening cooperation with the divisions and supporting the work of the divisions (e.g. through regular political monitoring)
  • Positioning dena in the political environment
  • Maintaining contact with ministries, parliament and other stakeholders
  • Further development of cross-cutting topics of fundamental importance for the energy transition and climate neutrality
  • Ensuring work results and work quality, including compatibility with projects and products of other dena divisions
  • Involvement in the strategic development of dena and support of the management in presentation and representation tasks

The position is to be filled full-time and initially for a limited period of two years with the aim of permanent employment.

Your profile

  • University degree in business administration, economics, management, politics, law, natural sciences or comparable courses of study
  • Many years of experience in leading large teams and managing complex projects and conceptual work with different stakeholders
  • Very good political sense and networking skills
  • Good knowledge of energy and climate policy as well as strong market knowledge
  • Strategic thinking, a systematic and structured way of working
  • High level of commitment in dealing with colleagues, project partners and clients
  • Confident appearance and excellent communication skills with different stakeholders as well as business fluent written and spoken German and English
  • High motivation and independent action
