Would you like to become an active shaper of the energy transition? Do you not only look at the individual building blocks of the energy transition, but also have an eye on the systemic challenges? Would you like to develop the topics of grid regulation and market communication in a prominent position and work in the heart of Berlin in close proximity to politics and government?

The Energy Networks division at BDEW offers this opportunity! The energy grids are the backbone of a climate-neutral energy system, including the conversion of the electricity grids, the transformation of the gas grids and the development of a hydrogen infrastructure.

For this area we are looking for you as soon as possible as

Head of Department (f/m/d) Commercial Regulation

As the umbrella organization of the energy and water industry, BDEW, together with its regional organizations and its more than 2,000 member companies, is pursuing the major goal of leading Germany towards climate neutrality with a secure and efficient energy supply and advocating safe and sustainable water management.

Grid regulation regulates and secures the financing of the expansion and conversion of energy grids in the context of the energy transition. In addition to the traditional regulation of electricity and gas grids, there is also regulation of the hydrogen grid. Grid regulation is crucial to ensuring that grid operators can raise the necessary capital for grid investments and grid operation. The high level of investment required for the transformation of the energy grids, combined with developments on the financial market, will make grid regulation one of the key factors in the energy transition over the next few years. Market communication is the "communication hub of the energy industry". It ensures standardized and digital market processes that support the efficient handling of information exchange in the energy market and the implementation of new business models that are suitable for the mass market.

Together with our member companies, which delegate long-standing technical experts and executives up to company management level to the BDEW committees, we work on reliable framework conditions. We are committed to setting the right course and support the further development and implementation of the regulatory framework for grid investments and market communication processes at national and European level with a high level of professionalism and expertise.
