Head of Department (m/f/d) Quality Assurance Specialists and Federal Funding

Dena’s mission is to contribute to the success of the energy transition. As a competence center for applied energy transition and climate protection, it supports the German government in achieving its energy and climate policy goals. To this end, it brings together partners from politics, business, science and all parts of society. Nationally and internationally, dena develops solutions for climate neutrality and puts them into practice.
The federal government’s funding programs in the building sector, above all the Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings (BEG), are of central importance for the success of the energy transition in the building sector. The division deals with all issues relating to the quality assurance of federal funding. This includes dena’s strategic positioning in the field, the design and organization of quality assurance measures (on-site inspections, random checks), the further development of requirements for the qualification of specialists in connection with federal funding and the quality assurance and further development of energy consulting.
Most of the approximately 85 employees have an academic education and most of them have experience in the field of planning and consulting.
The tasks of the division management also include economic planning, resource planning, employee motivation and management, personnel development and quality assurance of processes, procedures and products within the division.

Your tasks

  • Reliable implementation of the division’s quality assurance tasks
  • Strategic further development of the division
  • Conception and development of new projects in the context of the division’s thematic and technical priorities
  • Initiating and leading multi-stakeholder processes and dialogues involving decision-makers from politics, business and society
  • Representing the dena division internally and externally
  • Policy advice in the context of the further development of funding
  • Acquisition of customers, partners and sponsors as well as funding for the division’s programs, projects and products
  • Expanding and maintaining contacts with decision-makers from politics, business and associations
  • Developing energy policy positions in connection with the division’s specialist focus areas
  • Contributing to the strategic development of dena and supporting the management in presentation and representation tasks

Your qualifications

  • Very good university degree (Master’s/Diploma) in engineering, preferably architecture or civil engineering
  • Several years of practical experience in planning, consulting and working with teams from various disciplines in the building sector
  • Several years of experience in construction management and the coordination of cross-discipline construction teams
  • Several years of experience in collaboration and communication with trades and tradespeople
  • Experience with EU projects and in the context of research projects
  • Very good knowledge and solid experience in the field of technical and political communication and marketing
  • Very good knowledge in the field of political communication
  • Excellent network of national and European stakeholders in the context of buildings
  • Experience in setting up innovative projects
  • Acquisition experience of privately financed projects
  • Very good knowledge of public project financing instruments
  • Many years of management experience of larger teams as well as management of executives and personnel development
  • Experience with transformation processes / organizational development
  • Experience with agile working methods and strategic management methods, in particular application of OKR
  • Confident demeanor, strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
  • Very good written and spoken German and English as well as negotiating skills in a national and international context
  • High level of motivation, ability to deal with conflict, independent action and strong communication skills as well as willingness to travel are required
