Head of Events & Marketing (m/f/d)

Dena’s mission is to contribute to the success of the energy transition. As a competence center for applied energy transition and climate protection, it supports the German government in achieving its energy and climate policy goals. Nationally and internationally, dena develops solutions for climate neutrality and puts them into practice.

Your tasks

  • In this multifaceted role, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of the Events & Marketing work area in the Communications division with around 45 employees. The division comprises two areas of work: Newsroom and Events & Marketing. You will be responsible for the personnel and technical management and further development of the Events and CRM/Stakeholder Management teams of around 15 people. You will work across teams to ensure that internal processes are organized in line with the times and as digitally as possible, interlock smoothly and meet the needs of employees. You will act as the central interface for the operational teams in the area of work, to the other teams in the area of communication and to divisional management. You coordinate networking with other areas throughout the company. You will assume the control function and quality management for all project acquisitions in the work area.
  • These are your specific tasks:
  • Strategic control and management:
  • Developing an overall strategy and ensuring that the work area is uniformly aligned with the company’s objectives
  • Budget responsibility including economic planning in the work area
  • Responsibility for resource planning and management in the work area
  • Personnel responsibility for team leaders and, where applicable, direct employees in the work area
  • Participation in the further development of the dena communication and marketing strategy as well as the newsroom model as an overarching working principle in communication, operationalization and coordination of implementation
  • Planning, implementing and monitoring methods and measures for evaluating and measuring the impact of communication
  • Further development and coordination of cooperation with the internal business units
  • Contributing to the strategic development of dena and supporting or representing the division management in presentation and representation tasks
  • Events & Marketing:
  • Coordination and monitoring of projects for which the division is responsible
  • Coordination of project acquisition for the work area, collaboration in the conception and central management of project applications, coordination in setting up and managing projects, including maintaining contact with clients
  • Further development of the range of services for events and CRM, ongoing optimization
  • Coordination of campaign and topic planning in the area of work, as part of the newsroom model in the area of communication
  • Further development of standards, structures and processes in the area of work
  • Quality control and quality management for the processes
  • Coordination, further development and continuous quality management for the software systems used (CRM system landscape) and organization of effective and efficient working methods
  • The position is full-time and initially limited to two years with the option of permanent employment.

Your qualifications

  • Degree in communications, marketing or a comparable field of study
  • At least 10 years of professional experience and several years of experience in a management position with personnel responsibility and comparable tasks
  • Sound knowledge of corporate communications, event management, customer relationship management and e-mail marketing
  • Sound knowledge of evaluation
  • Sound knowledge of project management and control
  • Knowledge of public procurement procedures
  • Cooperative leadership style and a strong willingness to work collaboratively within the department and across the organization
  • Strong communication skills and a confident, engaging manner
  • High level of motivation, commitment, reliability and resilience
  • Very good written and spoken German
