Head of Technology – Planning & Construction
Our client is Stadtwerke Bernau GmbH, which offers short distances to the countryside and fast connections to Berlin in Bernau, a town with over 700 years of history and modern development areas. Here at Stadtwerke, around 150 employees work as distribution network operators and basic suppliers (electricity and natural gas) to supply the boomtown of Bernau. It also operates a district heating network and several local heating networks. The portfolio also includes e-mobility, photovoltaics and heating concepts as well as the technical and commercial management of the water supply and wastewater disposal systems. Your tasks
- Responsibility for the planning, management and implementation of complex and large-scale measures: Construction of a transformer station, geothermal energy, large heat pumps
- Operating the heat transformation strategy and implementing measures for heat expansion, e.g. biomass, biomethane
- Fundamental further development of the technical infrastructure / plant technology for electricity, heat, gas, water and wastewater
- Management of the already powerful 20-strong division in four teams

- You need a strong focus on technology and a good gut feeling and heart for managing your employees: Ideally, you have a university degree (Bachelor/Master’s, U/TH/FH) in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, process engineering, civil engineering or a comparable adequate education and training. You have several years of professional experience in the field of energy supply – for example from a municipal utility/utility company, a grid operator or a supplying company (engineering/planning office, project manager, other service provider) or an industrial company with its own supply. You have professional management experience. You want to drive forward the energy transition and have the strength, motivation and energy to do so in an up-and-coming region!
