We, FairNetz GmbH, are the utility operator in Reutlingen and in many municipalities throughout the region. With approximately 400 employees, we ensure the reliable and sustainable operation of electricity, natural gas, district heating, and drinking water networks. We are actively and proactively shaping the energy transition using state-of-the-art technology, smart distribution grids, the integration of renewable energy sources, innovative digitalization strategies, and the promotion of electric mobility.

Tasks

Independently organizing and conducting cable fault and diagnostic measurements in the service area, as well as developing and implementing an evaluation procedure
Implementing the necessary systems for diagnostic measurements during operations and further developing the diagnostic and fault measurement methods used
Responsibility for the efficient coordination of measurement activities in the electricity sector
Initiating appropriate measures in response to incoming fault reports, e.g., via the City of Reutlingen’s fault reporting system
Supporting the entire department on special projects
Providing administrative support for current and future management systems in the area of street lighting, as well as overseeing the implementation of new software in this sub-area
Long-term: Establishing and expanding the measurement technology team

Candidate Profile

Would you like to use your technical skills to ensure reliable grid operations and play an active role in grid services? Are you ambitious, solution-oriented, and enjoy working analytically—while viewing occupational safety measures as a matter of course rather than an obstacle?
Completed master craftsman’s training in electrical engineering or a completed apprenticeship as a technician
Ideally, professional experience in the energy sector and with cable testing vehicles
Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development
Class B driver’s license (Class C/CE preferred)
An independent, reliable, and meticulous work style
Ability to work well in a team and flexibility
Willingness to be on call
