Operations Manager Public Utilities (m/f/d)

Our Mössingen municipal utilities, which are owned by the town of Mössingen, are a high-performance local service provider for energy, heating, drinking water, pool operations and electrical installations. With an annual turnover of around EUR 34 million, 73 employees and a clear focus on sustainability and security of supply, we are actively shaping the municipal services of the future.
Your tasks
- As an operations manager, you will play a central role in the strategic transformation of our municipal utilities. You combine modernization, innovation and customer service and consistently develop the municipal utilities further – for a secure and economical energy and supply infrastructure. You will drive innovation, set the course for future forms of energy generation and lead our teams into a modern, future-proof energy and supply world.
- Overall management of Stadtwerke Mössingen and commercial management of the wastewater disposal company
- Further development of the energy and supply infrastructure – particularly with regard to the energy transition, climate neutrality and sustainable use of resources
- Development and implementation of innovative future topics:
- Further development of the heat supply, incl. heating networks, CHP optimization, renewable energies
- Transformation strategies for our electricity grids
- Digitalization of further operating processes
- Expansion of the resilience of infrastructures
- Responsibility for drawing up, managing and monitoring the business plan, budget, key figures, profitability and earnings development
- Operational and strategic control at management level with a focus on target and performance management, process quality, service orientation and profitability
- Preparation, support and presentation of decisions and representation of the municipal utilities on municipal committees

Your qualifications
- Successfully completed Master’s degree (e.g. business administration, energy management, industrial engineering or similar) or comparable qualification
- Several years of professional and management experience in the energy or utilities industry
- Experience in economic management, strategic planning and decision-making processes in complex organizations
- Leadership skills, empathy and an appreciative approach to employees and managers
