The Customers and Markets Germany department is the central point of contact for all TenneT customers who want to connect to our grid or who want to participate in the markets for system services such as loss and control energy. We also strive to position TenneT as a thought leader in the European electricity markets to enable the operation of an efficient and resilient electricity system at low cost.

Your tasks
- As a Policy Advisor for Electricity Market Design (m/f/d), you will support the development of innovative market design solutions with (quantitative) analyses and thus actively contribute to an efficient energy transition. Your focus will be on:
- (Quantitative) analyses: You systematically evaluate energy industry data, identify trends and correlations and thus support the development of well-founded market design decisions. You will make the effects of market mechanisms and regulations transparent and comprehensible. Your range of tasks includes working on the Flexibility Needs Assessment.
- Developing sustainable market design concepts: We will integrate hundreds of gigawatts of renewable energy and other flexibility options into the electricity system. We are developing robust and sustainable market concepts for system and grid-supporting integration. In close cooperation with colleagues and external stakeholders, you will design solutions that optimally prepare the energy system for the future.
- Strategic positioning: You will develop strategies to strengthen TenneT’s position in key decision-making processes. With well-founded quantitative analyses and active stakeholder management, you ensure that our perspective is represented in the discussions on electricity market design.
- Networking & influencing: You will represent TenneT in external project teams and working groups on market design and build a strong network in the energy sector – both nationally and at European level.
- Team collaboration: You will be part of a highly skilled and motivated market design team that is passionate about shaping the future of energy.
Your qualifications
- A degree in economics, engineering, mathematics or a comparable qualification is the basis of your success
- You have already gained experience in the European energy sector and market and have a strong understanding of energy industry contexts
- You have sound knowledge of quantitative data analysis in an energy industry context, e.g. with Python, as well as knowledge of visualization tools such as Power BI. Knowledge of simulation or optimization tools is an advantage
- In addition to your passion for data and electricity markets, you also impress us with your analytical and abstract thinking skills as well as your initiative
- Your profile is rounded off by very good written and spoken German and English due to our cooperation with international interface partners
