Portfolio Analyst (gn) Climate Risk
Your job:
- In your role as Portfolio Analyst, your focus will be on weather risks, giving you a key position to professionalize our portfolio management activities within LichtBlick and act as a central and strong interface to the Eneco Group, of which LichtBlick is a part
- Your main responsibility will be portfolio analysis and reporting for the German commodity portfolio as well as building the necessary model, process, technology and tool infrastructure to create a transparent &overview über the German portfolio and its optimization potentials within LichtBlick and especially in the group context
- You assess all weather risks in the commodity, customer supply as well as asset area and transform weather data into trading decisions by creating a combination of Lichtblick data and business as well as Eneco trading information
- You actively participate in quantifying weather risks and communicating them to Eneco Group risk management and derive recommendations for action
- You will be involved in the design and implementation of weather risk assessment models, as well as the development of hedging instruments including stress testing and the development & assessment of risk mitigation concepts
- You will be responsible for the standardization of models, assumptions and inputs as well as the definition of common fundamentals within the group
- You are responsible for the design and execution of stress / sensitivity tests for LichtBlick portfolios and contribute to the overall group portfolio. In doing so, you constantly develop monitoring, evaluation and simulation tools
- You see yourself as a back-up for other areas of financial risk management, such as churn risk, trading risks, commodity risk management and act interdisciplinary within the organization
- You will be responsible for preparing complex data and translating it into concepts and decision papers, which you will present and discuss with internal departments
Your Skills:
- You have successfully completed a degree with a focus on economics, mathematics or a comparable course of study and have already gained several years of professional experience that you would like to contribute
- Experience in the energy market and in quantitative risk management and/or portfolio management, ideally also with energy weather risks, will give you an advantage
- You convince us with your knowledge of methods and techniques of commodity, credit and asset risk management and have a strong analytical mindset as well as a very good understanding of numbers
- Found knowledge of MS Office applications, especially excellent Excel and VBA skills, are not new territory for you
- Your interest in the further development of IT-supported processes and ideally basic programming skills, e.g. Python knowledge are a plus and round off your profile
- You are characterized by independence, structure and a goal-oriented way of working as well as communication skills, paired with joy in working in a team and a heart for big issues? Then we are looking forward to exactly you!
