The Climate Protection and Energy Agency of Lower Saxony (KEAN) is a state-wide competence center for energy saving, energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies in the building sector, in companies and in municipalities. Its task is to support climate protection in local authorities and the practical implementation of the energy transition in Lower Saxony. We are a team of experts who competently and passionately develop solutions in the areas of energy efficiency, energy saving and renewable energies - with the aim of reducing greenhouse gases and thus contributing to limiting the global rise in temperature. We see ourselves as a driving force and network for all relevant stakeholders in Lower Saxony from local authorities, companies, associations, agencies, politics and social groups.


Your tasks

You will use your expertise to support the team in preparing and classifying relevant information (including the electricity grid development plan) to promote the accelerated expansion of the electricity grid infrastructure in Lower Saxony. In doing so, they keep an eye on both the technical and legal approval aspects. They provide information and advice in close cooperation with the responsible departments of the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Environment. Initiating and supporting networks with relevant stakeholders for electricity grid infrastructures. Identifying obstacles to the expansion and implementation of infrastructure projects in the field of electricity grids and developing solutions to accelerate project implementation. Summarizing "lessons learned" and developing findings that can be transferred to other projects with the aim of publication. Representing state interests in regional and cross-state working groups and committees in close coordination with the relevant ministries. Monitoring the market and technical developments. Expert assessment and preparation of good practice examples.


Your qualifications

Completed degree in a relevant engineering discipline such as electrical engineering, industrial engineering or energy technology. Preferably several years of professional experience in the field of sustainable energy management. Knowledge of energy infrastructure planning and the basics of electrical engineering is an advantage. Good decision-making, diplomatic and communication skills. Confident and engaging manner. Ability to work independently, strong communication and teamwork skills. Very good written and spoken German, enjoyment of scientific writing.
