Process Engineering, Urban Water Management Engineer as Head of Process Engineering and Waste (m/f/d)

Your tasks

  • Management of a team of 4 engineers
  • Collection and evaluation of operational and development data on the purification performance and capacity utilization of Cologne’s wastewater treatment plants
  • Creation, support and evaluation of process engineering concepts for wastewater treatment plants, including their long-term further development
  • Setting up a simulation of wastewater treatment processes to optimize operational wastewater treatment and further develop the process engineering of the wastewater treatment plants
  • Monitoring and evaluating legal and social developments in relation to wastewater treatment plants
  • Evaluation of innovative treatment processes and advice on process engineering issues
  • Initiating and supervising research and innovation projects for wastewater treatment and sludge treatment
  • Supervision of water law approvals for wastewater treatment plants and representation of the company vis-à-vis the supervisory authority
  • Supervision of the division’s waste management
  • Appointment of waste and immission control officers

Your qualifications

  • Successfully completed Master’s degree in urban water management, process engineering, environmental engineering or a comparable course of study
  • Several years of professional experience in the field of wastewater treatment (municipal or industrial)
  • Interest in process engineering and analytical tasks
  • Knowledge of simulation, hydraulics and statistics programs is desirable
  • Interest in strategic development tasks, organizational and communication skills, creative drive
  • Ability to work independently and conceptually
