Deggendorf Institute of Technology is one of the most dynamic universities in southern Germany and is the most research-intensive university of applied sciences in the whole of Bavaria. In the first quarter of 2023 alone, 27 new projects were approved with a funding volume of over 14 million euros. Professors and scientists are supported in shaping applied research in an innovative and lively way for regional development and beyond. For example, professors receive teaching relief for research projects and to initiate research. The diversity of research activities can be divided into four main research areas: "Digital Economy and Society", "Sustainable Materials, Processes and Energy Technology", "Intelligent Mobility" and "Innovative Working World and Healthy Living". The ideal environment for research and teaching is provided by DIT's three study locations and the 15 Innovation and Technology Campuses. DIT is not only the most research-intensive and most international university in Bavaria, it is also the fastest growing. The foundation is formed by eight faculties for business, engineering, health and computer science, whose focus is on practice-oriented and future-oriented teaching and applied research at the highest level.

The energy transition towards a more sustainable energy system is the central challenge of this century. A professorship at our vibrant and rapidly growing European Campus Rottal-Inn (ECRI) offers you the opportunity to train young engineers and promote innovative research. The teaching and research areas include the entire field of future energy systems and intelligent buildings, from intelligent control to holistic system planning. Your qualifications
We are looking for a creative and committed academic with a proven track record, ideally with a degree in science or engineering, who will help our location to gain further international recognition. You have sound experience and an international reputation in the field of intelligent energy systems and power grids. You should have an interdisciplinary background and relevant experience in the field of e-learning projects and the acquisition of third-party funding. Due to the international orientation of our campus, the majority of courses are held in English. Good written and spoken German and English skills are therefore required.
