Diverse tasks

  • Become part of the Projects & Systems team in the Intraday division of Energy Trading at EnBW AG. We are responsible for the design and management of power plant-related processes and systems, the introduction of new systems and the connection and control of plants via the control system. We also take care of the interfaces to grid operators and power plants, as well as the integration of new plants, live data management, aggregation of renewable energies and compliance with KRITIS and BCM requirements:
    • Designing the central process of power plant dispatching: short-term deployment optimization of our power plant portfolio, including real-time optimization, handling of redispatch measures, provision and delivery of system services and supporting processes to ensure system stability
    • Further development of the virtual power plant and the control system in line with the requirements of the energy transition
    • Active discussion partner for grid operators, power plants, internal and external contractual partners, industry associations and regulators
    • Prequalification of generation plants for ancillary services
    • Whether it's a PV system on the roof or offshore wind farms in the North Sea. We integrate renewable plants into our power plant optimization.
    • Implementation of the numerous regulatory requirements (e.g. REMIT, SOGL, RD2.0...) in close cooperation with IT in a dynamic environment
    • Through continuous improvement and innovation, optimizing the reliability and adaptability of dispatching processes

Convincing profile

  • Degree in industrial engineering, energy technology, computer science, economics or a comparable field of study
  • Experience in energy trading, power plant operation, grid management or energy economics
  • Technical understanding of market mechanisms, system stability and energy technology
  • Analytical and conceptual skills as well as a structured way of working, including strong communication and teamwork skills to work successfully with internal and external partners
  • High level of initiative and innovative spirit to further develop processes in line with IT affinity and experience in energy industry IT systems

EnBW's Trading business unit is the central market access to the energy markets. We are active in key European markets and on international energy exchanges. GE Trading is responsible for the optimal management of the EnBW portfolio, is active in the marketing of renewable energies and thus supports the Energiewende. We are also involved in future topics such as hydrogen or smart & digital trading, as well as in new supply contracts and the management of renewable energies. EnBW's GE Trading operates with an international team with employees from more than 30 nations, represented at 4 locations: Germany, England, Norway and Switzerland.
