Today, fashion no longer takes the form of collections in stores – it is created online, every second, driven by ultra-fast fashion platforms. While more and more plastic clothing is coming onto the market in ever shorter cycles, the resource consumption of linear clothing and the global mountains of textile waste are growing as a result. At the same time, we know: There is another way. Borrowing, sharing, swapping, repairing and second-hand should have long been the new normal. We want the textile revolution – and to bring circular textile offers out of the niche and into everyday life. To achieve this, we combine campaigning, political regulation and digital communication to drive forward the textile revolution. Sounds good to you? Your tasks
- Participation in our circular economy team in the planning, coordination and implementation of our project activities and campaigns on the topic of textiles
- Drafting political statements and background papers
- Support with research and administrative tasks
- Creation of campaign and information materials
- Support in the acquisition of project funds
- Conception, planning and implementation of events and exchange meetings with decision-makers and stakeholders in the field of circular economy
- Representing DUH at meetings, conferences and networks
- Preparation and support of press and public relations work in cooperation with our newsroom and the campaign team
- Supporting DUH in legal proceedings
- Conceptual development of the topics
Your qualifications
- Degree/training in environmental sciences, recycling management, technical environmental protection or comparable subject
- Ideally relevant professional experience and specialist knowledge in the textile sector
- Familiar with legal standards in the textile industry (e.g. Waste Framework Directive, Circular Economy Act, Ecodesign Ordinance) and ideally with the principle of extended producer responsibility and/or labeling regulation
- Willingness to familiarize yourself with specialist topics and positions
- Experience in project management and the acquisition of project funds
- Initiative, ability to think politically and strategically, enjoy fact-based work, high degree of independence, motivation and very good teamwork skills
- Willingness to occasionally participate in project events
- Very good command of English and sound IT skills
