Regional Energy Manager Germany (m/f/d)
Your main responsibilities:
- Responsibility for developing and implementing a forward-looking procurement strategy to supply energy-intensive companies with competitive and low-carbon electricity, gas, and primary and secondary fuels at all locations in Germany
- Strategic management of energy procurement and leading complex negotiations to ensure the supply of low-carbon energy sources (e.g., PPAs, BESS) for decarbonization projects such as CCUS and green hydrogen
- Serving as the central point of contact for energy industry and energy technology issues, and actively collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, associations (e.g., VDZ, VIK), government agencies (e.g., BAFA), and regulatory bodies
- Leading and supporting the energy management team (e.g., in conducting ISO 50001 energy audits and the continuous development of the EMS)
- Overseeing and coordinating communication with managers/directors in Germany and across the EMEA region on energy- and fuel-related topics
- Responsibility for identifying and optimizing new and relevant compensation schemes for taxes and levies on electricity, gas, and alternative fuels/biomass in Germany

Personal Qualifications:
Professional Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a comparable field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in energy procurement or energy sales, ideally in an energy-intensive industry (e.g., cement, steel, chemicals, glass, or building materials) in Germany
- Technical understanding and experience with long-term contracts (e.g., electricity supply, coal procurement, PPAs)
- Experience in independently conducting procurement negotiations
- Good knowledge of national and European energy policy, as well as national and global energy and commodity markets and key price and market drivers
- Proficiency with MS Office and SAP/ERP systems
- Very good written and spoken German and English
