Senior expert (m/f/d) digital technologies for the energy sector

Dena’s mission is to contribute to the success of the energy transition. As a competence center for applied energy transition and climate protection, it supports the German government in achieving its energy and climate policy goals. To this end, it brings together partners from politics, business, science and all parts of society. Nationally and internationally, dena develops solutions for climate neutrality and puts them into practice.

Your tasks

  • Become part of the “Digital Technologies” team within the Digital Technologies & Start-up Ecosystem division, which is responsible for the “Future Energy Lab” project and all dena activities relating to data governance, data infrastructures and data analysis for energy markets and grids.
  • You will work at the interface between politics and business on key issues relating to the transformation of the energy system through digitalization.
  • The independent development and management of innovative project approaches, subcontractors and stakeholder processes as well as the research and analysis of information and the comprehensible and attractive preparation and presentation of results form the core of your work.
  • Further areas of responsibility are
  • Independent management of complex project plans in the context of the technical, economic and political further development of the subject area of digitalization as an essential component of a successful transformation of energy systems, including quality, budget and time specifications
  • The project focus is the “Future Energy Lab” project, in which work is to be carried out on these topics in particular: Net climate protection benefits of digital technologies/applications, piloting of innovative solutions, organization of political fireside evenings
  • Development of the field of work and acquisition of projects
  • Development and management of specialist working groups and consultations
  • Moderation of project meetings and events and presentation of results

Your qualifications

  • Successfully completed studies (Master’s/Diploma) in economics, social sciences (esp. political science), environmental sciences, engineering or computer science
  • Professional experience in the energy industry, science, in agencies or companies in the digital economy
  • Experience in the management and development of complex projects, incl. management of external service providers, budget planning and workshop management
  • Very good written and spoken communication skills in German and English to suit the target audience
  • Good understanding of political and economic contexts and dynamics
  • Sound knowledge of the current challenges of the energy transition and the opportunities and risks of digitalization, ideally knowledge in the areas of life cycle analysis or energy system modelling
  • Very good demeanor and high level of commitment in dealing with cooperation partners
  • Committed team player and highly motivated to work in a competent and young team
