Specialist (m/f/d) in Resilience of Critical Infrastructure
VSE Verteilnetz GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of VSE AG and a member of the VSE Group. As a regional grid operator, we are responsible for operating the 110-kV and 35-kV power grids, including asset management, grid services, grid operations, and regulatory management. With a high level of expertise, we ensure a reliable supply and trouble-free operation—24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Your Responsibilities
- Resilience Officer – You will serve as the direct point of contact on the topic of critical infrastructure resilience for our functional departments, the relevant units within the Group, and external stakeholders such as government agencies, organizations with security responsibilities, and VEWSaar
- Resilience Management – Together with the functional departments, you will continuously analyze the current state of resilience in the area of critical infrastructure (electricity, gas, and water networks), identify appropriate measures to enhance resilience, and monitor their implementation
- Compliance with Regulatory Requirements – You will share responsibility for ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements (BSI-KritisV, NIS 2 Directive, KRITIS Framework Act)
- Organizing Exercises – You will be responsible for preparing and conducting emergency and crisis exercises related to critical infrastructure, including identifying measures for improvement
- External Collaboration – You will take on tasks in corporate project groups and participate in external events and coordination meetings
- Status Reporting – You will regularly report on status and progress to senior management
Your Qualifications
- Degree relevant to the position—preferably in the field of energy supply
- Professional experience in the field of security — with a focus on emergency and crisis management, ideally related to critical energy infrastructure
- Knowledge of KRITIS—such as the structure and responsibilities of government agencies and organizations with security duties, or risk management in regulated industries—is a plus
- A passion for innovation and a willingness to learn — you enjoy proactively learning new things and working on interdisciplinary projects
- Act with enthusiasm and drive—you enjoy exchanging ideas and collaborating with colleagues across departmental and organizational boundaries
- Empathy and clarity—with your ideas, strong communication skills, and negotiation abilities, you inspire and convince both managers and colleagues
- Language – You have business-level proficiency in both spoken and written German and English
