We are 50Hertz – one of the four transmission system operators (TSOs) in Germany. Together with the Belgian electricity grid operator Elia (Brussels), we form the internationally active Elia Group. As one of four transmission system operators in Germany, 50Hertz is responsible for electricity transmission at the highest voltage level; the level on which everything depends when it comes to grid stability and security of supply in Germany and Europe. We are part of a European grid network and cooperate directly with colleagues throughout Europe. Together with the Belgian grid operator Elia, 50Hertz forms a European company: the Elia Group. We work together intensively on key issues. Individual areas such as IT or purchasing are group functions, i.e. Elia and 50Hertz colleagues work in a joint team in workplaces spread across Berlin and Brussels.

• I am responsible for the technical management of geotechnical tasks and issues relating to the installation of highly innovative offshore platforms.

In the Offshore division, I am responsible for the technical management of our contractors and work at the interface between technical know-how and project management. • My tasks:
• Technical leadership and management of the design and dimensioning of offshore platform foundation structures and their interaction with the seabed,
• Reviewing EPCI contractors’ design drafts for foundation structures and ensuring that 50Hertz’s high requirements are met,
• Procurement of all ground investigations and studies required as input and design basis for the foundation structures of offshore platforms,
• Evaluation and interpretation of reports and studies on geotechnical issues,
• Working closely with other sub-projects such as structure / design, permitting / certification or HSE and reporting to the “Project Manager Offshore Platform”,
• Establishment of an own network in the industry for cooperation and exchange of experience in the field of subsoil / geotechnics,
• Creating meaningful project documentation and contributions to the continuous improvement of our projects.

• Degree in geotechnics, geology, civil engineering or a related discipline,
• Several years of professional experience in geotechnical planning and design of structures, ideally for offshore projects,
• Expertise in the use of geotechnical software and analysis tools,
• Knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines,
• Business fluent in written and spoken English (preferably C1), advanced knowledge of German (at least B1),
• Confident handling of common IT systems (MS Office, SAP Hana),
• Confident appearance, assertiveness, good verbal and written communication skills,
• High level of commitment and flexibility for worldwide business travel.
• Not a must, but an advantage:
• Theoretical knowledge and practical experience in project management,
• Experience in the contractual management of contractors (EPCI contracts).
