Your tasks
- Further development and implementation of the IMO Group’s sustainability strategy and goals together with the management and the specialist departments, especially in the area of energy and environment
- Development of energy and sustainability concepts with regard to ESG topics/initiatives
- Initiating and supporting interdisciplinary projects to implement the sustainability strategy and following up on project goals (e.g. climate resilience, CO2 reduction, energy efficiency and resource conservation)
- Coordination and controlling of measures from the voluntary commitments in the area of sustainability
- Recording, evaluating and optimizing energy consumption
- Preparation of regular energy reports and key figures
- Preparing contracts for energy purchasing, including pre-selection of and negotiations with energy consultants and suppliers
- Identifying and evaluating potential savings and deriving measures to reduce energy consumption
- Support with certifications and audits relating to sustainability, the environment and energy
- Observation and evaluation of market trends, funding programs and legal requirements
- Preparation of statistical evaluations, presentations and reports as a basis for management decisions
- Preparation of a sustainability report for the IMO Group companies
- Managing and tracking information on sustainability portals (e.g. Integrity Next, SAQ)
- Coordination with external partners, authorities and energy suppliers
- Supporting the specialist departments with issues relating to ESG, sustainability and energy management
Your qualifications
- Completed studies with a focus on the environment or sustainability, in the field of economics or natural sciences or a comparable qualification
- Ideally professional experience in the conception of sustainable corporate development and/or increasing energy efficiency, with an overarching understanding of industrial environmental and climate protection
- Sound knowledge and experience in the following areas Calculation of CO2 balances and collection of environmental data; sustainability reporting (ideally in accordance with CSRD); introduction of processes to implement the EU Taxonomy Regulation; integration of the assessment of non-financial risks into risk management; introduction and maintenance of IT systems for non-financial data collection
- Strong analytical skills as well as skills in the presentation of complex issues
- High degree of initiative and personal responsibility
- Structured, proactive and diligent way of working as well as strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience in the coordination and implementation of audits is an advantage
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and user experience with ERP systems (preferably abas)
- Very good German and good written and spoken English skills
