In this position, you will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
The Press and Online Communications team plans and manages BDEW's press work as well as the editing and publication of multimedia content for bdew.de and the BDEW social media channels. In close coordination with the BDEW management, the team communicates the services, arguments and positions of the association on all relevant topics of the energy and water industry in a pointed, factual and comprehensible manner to the outside world and is the first point of contact for regional, national and international media.
Together with two other teams, the Press and Online Communications team is responsible for all of BDEW's internal and external communications in the form of press, online, events, campaigns and marketing activities
Your tasks
- Management and strategic development of the press and online communication team
- Overall responsibility for the association's press and online presence and social media communication
- Performing the role of press spokesperson (f/m/d/) for BDEW (press support for the chairmen of the main management board, press conferences, press releases, networking with journalists and relevant stakeholders, etc.)
- Advising the main management on association policy issues on all press and online-relevant topics
- Managing the media monitoring agency and PR service providers, including budget responsibility
- Committee support
Your profile:
- Successfully completed studies (Master / Diploma / M.A.) in communication, economics, political science, journalism or a comparable course of study with a focus on communication
- Multiple years of professional experience in the same or similar professional environment, experience in business and/or political communication
- Experience in both traditional print media and online / social media communication
- Experience in project management, a team-oriented way of working and the willingness and ability to collaborate across disciplines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present complicated topics concisely and clearly
- Convincing personality with a confident demeanor, negotiating and argumentation skills and a high level of service orientation
- Very good written and spoken English skills and very good knowledge of the common Office programs
